Value-chain summary (confirmed only):

  • Dominant ingredient manufacturers: GELITA (VERISOL® / FORTIBONE® — Pause Life Skin & Bone) and Rousselot/Darling via Peptan® (Absolute Collagen) are the clearest branded-peptide suppliers named on consumer pages. Mass brands (Vital Proteins, Revive, Ancient Nutrition, Bare Biology, Nothing Naughty) sell unbranded collagen peptides with species disclosed but no ingredient manufacturer named — these are the prime Ovitage switch / differentiation targets.
  • Ovine / Ovitage is currently the only confirmed sheep-derived option in this table: Everee Women™ → Ovitage® → Tertiary Extracts. No other row disclosed ovine collagen from a named manufacturer.
  • Unbranded collagen (switch targets): Vital Proteins, Revive Collagen, Ancient Nutrition, Bare Biology, Nothing Naughty, Better Body Co (pending label confirm). Branded non-collagen menopause actives (Relizen/Sérélys, ERr 731, Amberen succinates, Hormone Harmony, Menopace) compete for the same shopper but are not collagen-peptide customers.

Ingredient / manufacturer cells say not disclosed unless confirmed from the product label/page, brand science/FAQ, or the ingredient supplier’s own site. Peptan® ownership = Rousselot (Darling Ingredients) from Rousselot brand pages; Absolute names Peptan on its science page.

It competes for the same beauty–midlife–protein occasion as Verisol/Peptan-type SKUs, while claiming differentiation on composition and women’s metabolic needs. Clinical efficacy dossiers are still maturing (research “under way”) — evidence score intentionally lower than GELITA/Rousselot brand peptides until peer-reviewed RCTs land [19].

Consumer brand: Everee Women showcases the ingredient B2C; TEO remains primarily B2B [19].

Top co-formulation partners (recommended)

  1. Creatine monohydrate (Creapure-grade) — Highest momentum + mechanistic fit for lean mass, fatigue, cognition and bone-with-RT; huge education gap in women (only 36% of users) [15][3]. Pair as “structure (Ovitage) + cellular energy (creatine)”.
  2. Magnesium (bisglycinate / threonate) — Largest fetched functional-ingredient dollar signal ($293.3M, +40.9%) [1]; solves sleep/mood without overlapping protein claims.
  3. myHMB® — Direct GLP-1 companion adjacency for muscle retention [11][12]; lets Everee/TEO own “GLP-1 + midlife lean mass” with a branded, claim-ready partner.
  4. Urolithin A (Mitopure®) — Premium mitochondrial/muscle aging proof [18]; elevates price architecture beside Ovitage.
  5. EstroG-100® or sea buckthorn omega-7 — Adds vasomotor or mucosal-dryness coverage Ovitage does not claim; EstroG has doubling distributor growth [13]; omega-7 Trends rising fast [4].

Avoid over-stacking NMN (regulatory/quality risk) and tremella (weak evidence) in a science-led Everee hero SKU.

03 · What’s growing in popularity?

Product / market map (women)

Where women’s eaten nutrition and supplement products sit by life stage and benefit need. Alongside: Google Trends interest over time and the public sales/market figures we could fetch and cite. Everee / Ovitage® is highlighted in orange throughout. Topicals, injectables, HRT and test kits are excluded.

Biggest signals
  1. Crowded: Post-menopause × Hot flushes & hormonal symptoms (10 products); Not stage-specific × Skin, hair & beauty (8 products); Perimenopause × Hot flushes & hormonal symptoms (7 products); Post-menopause × Brain fog, mood & sleep (5 products). Hot flushes in peri/post-menopause is a botanical aisle (Estroven, Amberen, black cohosh, pollen, EstroG-100). Skin in the generic column is a collagen aisle (bovine/marine).
  2. White space / thin (0–1 competitors, peri → active ageing): Active ageing longevity: skin, bone, muscle, gut, brain fog, energy; Perimenopause: bone, muscle; Post-menopause: bone. Everee sits in 14 cells, and in several of them it is the only mapped product. The clearest open lane is protein-led muscle / lean mass / GLP-1 and bone in post-menopause and active ageing.
  3. Two aisles that never meet on Amazon US: 0 of the top-30 menopause best-sellers are collagen (16 are botanicals), and 0 of the top-30 collagen best-sellers mention menopause. 0 of the 60 are ovine/sheep. A “menopause collagen-protein” position is uncontested on the shelf (5 Oct 2026 snapshot).
  4. Fastest-rising searches (worldwide, last 52 wks vs prior 52): protein for women +203%, collagen peptides +115%, sea buckthorn +111%, creatine for women +80%, menopause brain fog +76%; low-volume, noisy risers: GLP-1 muscle loss +869%, sheep collagen +691%. Across UK / US / Australia: +66% to +129% for “protein for women” and +55% to +88% for “creatine for women”. “Menopause” itself moves only -2% to +14%, and colostrum is flat to falling (-11% to +1%) after doubling earlier in the period (5-yr worldwide +108%). Women’s muscle is the momentum story.
  5. Sales signals: SPINS US magnesium $293.3M (+40.9% YoY) and creatine $91.7M (+48.9%). Published “market sizes” disagree widely: 2025 menopause-supplement estimates run from US$0.99B to US$3.58B (3.6×), and 2024 collagen-supplement estimates from US$1.79B to US$4.8B (2.7×). Treat them as ranges, not facts. Everee is priced at US$1.66/serving (one-off), below menopause-positioned collagen rivals (US$2.33–4.36). It has room to raise price once Ovitage-specific trials publish.

Read the white space carefully. This research set is menopause-led, so the cycle-years and pregnancy columns (lighter headers) are under-sampled. Prenatal and fertility multis are a large, mature category. Treat empty cells there as “not mapped”, not as open market. The peri → active-ageing columns are well sampled (Amazon US top-30 menopause + collagen lists + 20 value-chain brands).

Female-Specific Exercise & Nutrition for Health, Performance & Longevity | Dr. Stacy Sims

Andrew Huberman · 2,494,399 views · 2024-07-22 · 2h 28m · captions

Andrew Huberman hosts exercise physiologist and nutrition scientist Dr Stacy Sims for a deep dive into female-specific training and nutrition across the lifespan. Sims argues that much mainstream fitness advice (fasted training, delayed post-workout eating, zone-2-heavy programmes) is generalised from male data and can undermine lean mass, recovery and metabolic health in women—especially from the mid-40s as estrogen flux declines in perimenopause. She recommends fuelling before training (around 15 g protein, with carbohydrate added for longer cardio), then a leucine-rich protein bolus soon after: about 35 g within 45 minutes for reproductive-age women and 40–60 g for perimenopause onward, because anabolic resistance rises with age. She frames estrogen as a key anabolic/driving signal for strength and power; when it flattens, heavy lifting (low reps in reserve), sprint/polarised work and higher protein become more important than endless easy cardio. Soft-tissue issues common in the mid-40s (e.g. frozen shoulder) are linked to this transition. On supplements she elevates creatine monohydrate (about 3–5 g/day) for muscle, mood/brain and gut support ahead of most other products. The episode is long-form science communication rather than a collagen brief, but it is the highest-reach female-physiology nutrition conversation on YouTube and anchors the oral-protein story Ovitage sits beside.

Key claims, quotes & relevance to Ovitage
Key claims
  • [00:22:58] ~15 g protein before training helps fuel and raise EPOC.
  • [00:27:33] Reproductive-age women ~35 g leucine-oriented protein within 45 min post-training; perimenopause onward 40–60 g due to anabolic resistance.
  • [00:28:19] Women’s metabolic recovery window is tighter (~60 min) than men’s (up to ~3 h); ‘no anabolic window’ claims are male-data based.
  • [01:53:11] Creatine is her number-one supplement for women—muscle, brain/mood and gut; ~3–5 g monohydrate daily.
  • [00:45:55] Perimenopause (mid-40s–early 50s) is a definitive ageing inflection; soft-tissue injuries and need for heavy/polarised training rise.
Quotes
“Women who are in their reproductive years need around 35 gram of good protein, high quality leucine oriented protein within 45 minutes.”
“Women who are perimenopausal onwards are 40 to 60 g because we become more anabolically resistant to food and exercise as we get older.”
“The number one is creatine.”
Relevance to Ovitage

Strong alignment with Ovitage’s oral protein/BCAA story for peri/post-menopausal women: higher protein dose, leucine signalling, protection of lean mass, and brain-fog/mood adjacency via creatine and protein timing. Does not discuss collagen peptides specifically; Ovitage should not be positioned as replacing complete dietary protein or heavy strength training—Sims would treat collagen as at best additive to those foundations.

Evidence flags
  • Creatine ‘gut health’ benefit stated briefly without detail—evidence for creatine and gut is thinner than for muscle/cognition.
  • Exact protein gram targets are practitioner heuristics synthesised from literature, not a single RCT prescription for every woman.

Women are Not Small Men: a paradigm shift in the science of nutrition | Stacy Sims | TEDxTauranga

TEDx Talks · 725,762 views · 2019-09-23 · 13m 45s · captions

Sims’ foundational TEDx talk recounts how her athletic and academic path exposed a systemic gap: sport nutrition and exercise science often treat women as anomalies or scaled-down men. From undergrad treadmill trials where her fuel use differed by cycle phase while male peers did not, through pushback at Stanford and Waikato, she argues sex differences begin at puberty and continue through perimenopause/postmenopause—yet public advice still recycles protocols from obese sedentary men popularised on social media (keto, fasted HIIT, intermittent fasting). Case vignettes include a stressed 34-year-old whose fasted HIIT and fasting worsened fatigue, belly fat and cycle irregularity until she fuelled for intensity and tracked her cycle; and a 54-year-old menopausal woman told to eat more soy and do easy cardio—advice Sims rejects in favour of plyometrics for bone, resistance training for lean mass, and more protein around training to counter brain fog and lost anabolic drive as estrogen falls. The emotional close—“Women have periods… women are not small men”—is the cultural frame for evidence-led women’s nutrition brands.

Key claims, quotes & relevance to Ovitage
Key claims
  • [00:02:41] Sex differences in fuel use appeared in her lab trials; male participants showed no equivalent swing.
  • [00:03:29] Instructors dismissed women as anomalies not worth studying in sport nutrition.
  • [00:08:04] Much trendy diet/training advice originates in obese sedentary male pre-surgery research, then generalises to fitness audiences.
  • [00:10:26] For a menopausal woman, soy + low-intensity cardio was poor advice; she needs plyometrics for bone and resistance training for muscle.
  • [00:11:12] Falling estrogen removes an anabolic stimulus; more protein around training can mitigate brain fog and support lean mass.
Quotes
“Surely, with 50% or more of the population being female, aren't the men the anomaly, and they don't know it yet?”
“Women are not small men.”
“Protein hits the brain, counters that brain fog, also feed forward to build lean mass.”
Relevance to Ovitage

Perfect narrative umbrella for Ovitage/Everee: female-specific nutrition, menopause muscle/brain-fog, bone via loading, protein as food-first intervention. Does not mention collagen; supports positioning Ovitage as a women’s bioactive protein food ingredient, not a male-default bodybuilding add-on.

Evidence flags
  • ‘Protein hits the brain, counters brain fog’ is a mechanistic simplification—brain-fog in menopause is multifactorial (sleep, vasomotor symptoms, mood, HRT status).
  • Individual case outcomes are illustrative, not controlled trials.

Dr. Stacy Sims: How Women Should Train, Eat & Recover for Long-Term Health | The Best of 2025

Dr. Stacy Sims Official · 330,195 views · 2025-12-29 · 40m 27s · captions

A 2025 compilation/best-of cut of Sims on how women should train, eat and recover for long-term health, drawing from her interviews and teaching rather than a single studio sit-down. Themes echo her Huberman and TEDx positions: women are not small men; training and protein needs shift across reproductive years into peri/post-menopause; heavy and power-oriented lifting matter more as anabolic hormones decline; and recovery nutrition—especially protein timing plus sleep—is non-negotiable if lean mass is the goal. The edit packages her most shareable soundbites for YouTube algorithms, which makes it a practical mid-length entry point for audiences who will not sit a two-and-a-half-hour podcast. For ingredient marketers it is a high-view Sims vehicle that repeatedly privileges complete, leucine-rich dietary protein and structured training over supplement hype. Use it for social cut-downs; send serious partners to the full Huberman episode for citations and nuance. Collagen is not the focus here, so keep Ovitage framed as a bioactive protein/peptide food ingredient that sits beside—not instead of—those protein and training foundations.

Key claims, quotes & relevance to Ovitage
Key claims
  • [early] Women’s training stimulus should shift toward heavier, power-based work from the mid-30s/peri transition onward.
  • [mid] Post-training protein dosing rises with age/anabolic resistance (same 35 g vs 40–60 g framing as Huberman cut).
  • [mid] Recovery (sleep, nutrition timing) is as decisive as the training session for adaptation.
  • [late] Supplement talk stays secondary to food and training design.
Quotes
“We become more anabolically resistant to food and exercise as we get older.”
“Women are not small men.”
Relevance to Ovitage

Reinforces Ovitage’s peri/post protein narrative at ~330k views on Sims’ own channel. Pair with Huberman episode for depth; use this cut for social clips. Collagen is not the focus—keep Ovitage framed as bioactive protein/peptides that complement, not replace, leucine-complete meals.

Evidence flags
  • Compilation format can strip study citations and nuance present in full interviews.

Breaking News For Women: Collagen Supplementation Can Aid in Osteoporosis Prevention.

Dr. Mary Claire Haver, MD · 200,821 views · 2022-04-13 · 0m 32s · captions

A thirty-two-second Haver short aimed squarely at menopausal women. She says she already favoured Verisol collagen (auto-captions mishear it as “aerosol”) for cellulite and wrinkles based on earlier studies, and cites a then-recent paper suggesting the same collagen also helps osteoporosis and osteopenia. She notes that roughly a third of women will face osteoporosis after menopause, and stacks collagen with vitamin D, adequate calcium and weight-bearing exercise as the core prevention toolbox. Engagement is extreme for the runtime, which is why it ranks high on influence despite almost no mechanistic detail. Culturally it matters because Haver is one of the primary menopause educators on YouTube openly endorsing oral collagen peptides for bone—an adjacent category to Ovitage. Medically it is thin: “treatment” language oversells what small peptide trials can claim, and she is talking about specific branded bovine peptides, not sheep-derived multi-protein platforms. Treat this as permission-to-believe creative, not as a study brief.

Key claims, quotes & relevance to Ovitage
Key claims
  • [00:00:02] Verisol collagen previously linked to cellulite and wrinkle studies.
  • [00:00:15] Same collagen now linked to osteoporosis/osteopenia treatment benefit.
  • [00:00:20] ~34% of women will suffer osteoporosis post-menopause.
  • [00:00:24] Combine collagen with vitamin D, calcium and weight-bearing exercise.
Quotes
“Breaking news for menopausal women… this recent study now documents that the same collagen is also useful for the treatment of osteoporosis and osteopenia.”
“This combined with vitamin D, adequate calcium and weight-bearing exercise is the biggest tools in your toolbox.”
Relevance to Ovitage

Direct cultural permission for oral collagen peptides in menopause bone health—the closest mainstream endorsement to Ovitage’s category. Caveat: she promotes specific branded peptides (Verisol/Fortibone family), not sheep-derived multi-protein; Ovitage must bring its own composition/BCAA/cystine differentiation rather than ride Verisol claims.

Evidence flags
  • 32-second format overstates ‘treatment’ language; underlying studies are small, often industry-linked specific peptides—not proven fracture-prevention drugs.
  • ‘34%’ osteoporosis statistic should be checked against local epidemiology before quoting in NZ/UK materials.

Building Muscle in Menopause: Protein, Creatine and Strength Training with Dr. Gabrielle Lyon

Dr. Mary Claire Haver, MD · 141,754 views · 2026-09-25 · 1h 0m · captions

Haver interviews muscle-centric medicine physician Dr Gabrielle Lyon on how menopausal women can still build muscle. The core thesis is that menopause is partly a muscle problem: ageing brings anabolic resistance, meaning muscle becomes less sensitive to protein and training, so women need higher-quality protein dosing—often 30–50 g at the first meal—plus progressive strength training and protected sleep. Lyon emphasises essential amino acid supplements when appetite or calories fall, including for patients on GLP-1 drugs where “every bite matters.” Both physicians strongly endorse creatine (around 5 g/day for muscle; higher doses discussed for brain) because food creatine density is impractical. They push back on blanket advice to cut red meat and stress nutrient density over calorie counting alone. Collagen is not the star of this conversation; complete protein, EAAs and creatine are. That is useful competitive intelligence for Ovitage: lean-mass claims in post-menopause will be judged against this protein-first standard, not beauty-collagen tropes.

Key claims, quotes & relevance to Ovitage
Key claims
  • [00:03:00] First meal protein of ~30–50 g matters for satiety and body-composition outcomes.
  • [00:06:53] Essential amino acid products are critical when calories fall (e.g. GLP-1 users).
  • [00:07:39] ~5 g creatine/day for muscle; 10–12 g discussed for brain function—food alone cannot practically supply this.
  • [00:09:10] Anabolic resistance = age-related reduced muscle sensitivity to protein/training stimuli.
  • [00:08:24] Creatine also linked to mood, cognitive function and processing speed in older adults.
Quotes
“Most women have never heard of anabolic resistance.”
“If five grams is the minimum for muscle and 10 to 12 for brain function, that's no one is going to consume that much [from food].”
“Every bite matters.”
Relevance to Ovitage

Excellent adjacency for Ovitage’s BCAA/lean-mass claims in post-menopause (Everee #4). Lyon’s incomplete-protein skepticism means Ovitage should be sold as a bioactive peptide/structural protein food ingredient plus complete protein—not as the sole muscle-building protein. Creatine pairing is a natural Everee/education angle.

Evidence flags
  • 10–12 g creatine for ‘brain function’ is an emerging/high-dose claim—evidence base is still developing versus the stronger 3–5 g muscle literature.
  • Branded EAA products named on-air are commercial recommendations, not independent comparative trials.

How Much Protein Should Women Consume After Training for Optimal Recovery & Muscle Repair?

Dr. Stacy Sims Official · 126,198 views · 2025-05-01 · 1m 13s · captions

Substituted for ZOE’s “Fix your gut, strengthen your bones” (3Gv6XEuymkM, ~179k views), whose captions could not be fetched (HTTP 429 and player-client failures). This Sims short isolates the post-training protein prescription that recurs across her long-form work: about 35 g of high-quality leucine-oriented protein within forty-five minutes for reproductive-age women, rising to 40–60 g from perimenopause onward because anabolic resistance increases with age. She argues the popular claim that “there is no anabolic window” is based on male data—women’s metabolism returns toward baseline within about sixty minutes versus up to roughly three hours in men—so women have a tighter window to exit catabolism and start repair. Leucine is framed as both a repair trigger and a signal that the body is in a building state. For Everee and Ovitage this is crystal-clear creative for peri/post protein dosing education, while still requiring honesty that collagen peptides alone are incomplete versus whey, meat or dairy for leucine-driven muscle protein synthesis.

Key claims, quotes & relevance to Ovitage
Key claims
  • [00:00:01] Reproductive-age women: ~35 g leucine-oriented protein within 45 min post-training.
  • [00:00:20] Perimenopause onward: 40–60 g for the same reason—anabolic resistance.
  • [00:00:35] Women’s blood-sugar/metabolic return ~60 min vs men up to ~3 h.
  • [00:00:46] ‘No recovery window’ literature is largely male-based.
Quotes
“Women who are perimenopausal onwards are 40 to 60 g because we become more anabolically resistant to food and exercise as we get older.”
“When we're looking at the data that says there's no window per se for getting food in, it's based on male data.”
Relevance to Ovitage

Crystal-clear protein-dose creative for Everee/Ovitage education. Ovitage’s elevated BCAA profile can be pitched as helping hit peri/post targets when mixed into food (as in Everee recipes), while still acknowledging collagen peptides alone are incomplete versus whey/meat/dairy for leucine-driven MPS.

Evidence flags
  • Gram targets are rule-of-thumb synthesised guidance; individual needs vary with body size, energy intake and training load.

Collagen, Bone Health, and Menopause: The formulation of the collagen you use matters!

Dr. Mary Claire Haver, MD · 105,297 views · 2025-12-31 · 2m 14s · captions

Haver’s longer collagen short (versus the thirty-two-second teaser). She states women lose about 30% of skin collagen in the first five years of menopause, describes finding Verisol randomised trials for wrinkles and skin appearance, then turning to Fortibone bioactive collagen for bone because of personal osteoporosis risk and poor tolerability of osteoporosis drugs. She summarises a small 2021 long-term observation (about thirty-one patients with multi-year DXA follow-up) and a larger 2018 randomised trial where 5 g/day of specific peptides improved spine density by roughly 3% and femoral-neck density by about 6.7% versus placebo decline. She discloses creating her Skin and Bone product combining Verisol and Fortibone. The explicit message—“the formulation of the collagen you use matters”—validates category interest while advertising a competitor SKU. For Ovitage this is both opportunity (oral peptides for menopause bone/skin are culturally accepted) and a brief to differentiate on ovine multi-protein composition, BCAA/cystine profile, NZ upcycling and patents rather than copying Verisol/Fortibone claim sets.

Key claims, quotes & relevance to Ovitage
Key claims
  • [00:00:01] ~30% skin collagen loss in first 5 years of menopause.
  • [00:00:30] Verisol bioactive peptides: RCTs for wrinkles/skin appearance.
  • [00:00:46] Fortibone 5 g/day associated with BMD improvement in osteopenic/osteoporotic postmenopausal women (2021 long-term observation).
  • [00:01:32] 2018 study: ~3% spine and ~6.7% femoral-neck BMD increase vs placebo drop.
  • [00:02:00] Her Skin & Bone product combines Verisol + Fortibone.
Quotes
“A woman will lose 30% of the collagen in her skin in the first 5 years of menopause.”
“The formulation of the collagen you use matters.”
“These patients took five grams of this specific bioactive collagen called Fortibone and saw statistically significant improvement in their bone density.”
Relevance to Ovitage

Highest-detail influencer case for specific oral collagen peptides in menopause bone/skin—validates category. Also a competitive lesson: she sells branded bovine collagen peptides. Ovitage differentiates via ovine whole-skin multi-protein, higher follicle-linked BCAA/cystine, NZ upcycled sourcing and patents—not by copying Verisol/Fortibone study claims.

Evidence flags
  • Speaker has commercial conflict (own collagen SKU).
  • Cited trials are modest-sized; fracture outcomes not established; ‘treatment of osteoporosis’ language exceeds typical supplement evidence standards.
  • 30% skin-collagen figure is widely repeated in menopause media—verify primary citation before using in regulated markets.

Does collagen live up to the hype? [New research 2025]

Menno Henselmans · 27,323 views · 2025-08-12 · 8m 32s · captions

Evidence-led sceptic review of oral collagen hype from coach and researcher Menno Henselmans. He summarises recent independent studies finding no additive effect of hydrolysed collagen on muscle or connective-tissue protein synthesis, skin protein synthesis or tendon adaptations beyond training alone. He flags industry sponsorship (notably Gelita) behind many positive joint-pain and “miraculous muscle” papers, notes collagen’s protein score near zero for muscle building, and argues that vitamin C plus adequate total protein can supply substrates for the body’s own collagen. He allows a narrower positive case: undenatured type II collagen may help osteoarthritis, which is not the same as everyday gym joint pain. His conclusion is that the case for collagen supplements for joint or skin health in already well-nourished lifters is weak; gelatin as food is fine, but expensive powders are often low-quality protein at a high cost. Essential foil for honest Ovitage positioning—especially for B2B buyers who have already read the sceptic literature.

Key claims, quotes & relevance to Ovitage
Key claims
  • [00:00:49] Recent studies: 30 g hydrolysed collagen did not raise collagen-synthesis markers beyond training.
  • [00:01:34] 15 g bioactive peptides did not improve patellar tendon adaptations over 15 weeks training.
  • [00:02:22] Collagen is a poor muscle-building protein (score effectively zero); industry muscle claims are untrustworthy.
  • [00:04:38] Collagen is digested to amino acids/peptides—not inserted whole into tendons.
  • [00:06:10] Undenatured type II may help osteoarthritis; not generalisable to healthy lifters’ joint pain.
Quotes
“The protein score for collagen is literally zero.”
“Collagen gets broken down into individual amino acids and some peptides and then it's basically rebuilt into your collagen structures.”
“The case for collagen supplements for joint or skin health is very weak.”
Relevance to Ovitage

Essential foil for honest Ovitage positioning. Contradicts blanket beauty/joint hype; pushes TE to lead with differentiated composition, specific clinical plans, and never claim collagen replaces complete protein for muscle. Useful for B2B buyers who have read the sceptic literature.

Evidence flags
  • Does not deeply engage the postmenopausal Fortibone BMD RCTs Haver cites—bone-specific evidence is under-weighted relative to young lifter MPS studies.
  • Tone is strongly anti-industry; still, sponsorship bias is a legitimate critique Ovitage should answer with transparent methods.

Why Collagen Is NOT a Protein (And What Women Actually Need for Bone Health)

Dr. Stacy Sims Official · 27,008 views · 2026-04-04 · 7m 45s · captions

Panel-style Sims discussion with clinician guests unpacking collagen marketing aimed at women. Sims is frustrated that collagen is sold as dietary or muscle protein: it is a structural protein, not a complete dietary protein, and should not be counted toward muscle-building protein targets. Guests note responders versus non-responders, type I versus type II, hydrolysed versus undenatured forms, and “reasonable but not universal” evidence for type I peptides on bone density alongside mixed evidence for joints. Practical advice includes not stacking four supplements at once, running simple stop/start n-of-1 tests, and prioritising an anti-inflammatory diet, magnesium, calcium, vitamin K, fibre and strength or impact-training workarounds as people age. A New Zealand versus US food-environment aside—ultra-processed “protein Pop-Tarts”—is useful colour for a NZ brand. Messaging hygiene for Ovitage is clear: never call it a complete muscle protein; call it bioactive structural peptides with elevated BCAAs and cystine from ovine skin, used alongside complete protein and training.

Key claims, quotes & relevance to Ovitage
Key claims
  • [00:00:02] Collagen marketing as ‘protein’ is misleading—structural ≠ complete dietary protein for muscle.
  • [00:00:47] Evidence is equivocal; responders and non-responders; type matters.
  • [00:01:10] Some reasonable evidence for type I collagen and bone density—not everyone responds.
  • [00:01:33] Hydrolysed type II and undenatured type II have limited joint-pain evidence.
  • [00:02:19] Food pattern and minerals likely matter more than most supplements for bone/joint.
Quotes
“It's a structural protein, it's not a dietary protein, so people use it as if it's a muscle-building protein.”
“I do think there's reasonable evidence for type one collagen… showing improvement in bone density.”
“Food is probably ultimately more important than a lot of supplements.”
Relevance to Ovitage

Must-watch for Ovitage messaging hygiene: never call Ovitage a complete muscle protein; call it bioactive structural peptides/proteins with elevated BCAAs/cystine from ovine skin, used alongside complete protein and training. Sims’ partial acceptance of type I bone data leaves a door open if TE runs rigorous women’s trials.

Evidence flags
  • Conversational medical opinions; citations not shown on-screen.
  • ‘Not a protein’ headline is pedagogically sharp but technically collagen is a protein—nuance is ‘not a complete dietary protein for MPS’.

Gut Goodness Overnight Oats made with Everee #4

Everee Kitchen · 2,618 views · 2025-08-11 · 5m 58s · captions

Brand-owned recipe video from Everee Kitchen with nutritionist Victoria. She demonstrates overnight oats intended as a gut-friendly breakfast or lunch: mashed banana, rolled oats, chia seeds, Greek yogurt, oat-based protein milk, berries, seeds and dark chocolate, with Everee #4 “Pro for postmenopausal support” stirred into the dry mix. She highlights branched-chain amino acids for muscle health with ageing and mentions “CG Pro” for vitality and recovery, while also coaching viewers to check protein and calcium levels when choosing plant milks. Absolute views are low, but proximity is maximum: this is the only confirmed YouTube creative in the set that puts the Everee consumer product—and by extension Ovitage—into an eaten-food context rather than a supplement scoop ritual. Use it as a template for higher-reach creator recipes that keep Ovitage visibly eaten, not injected. Claims on-camera are promotional, not clinical, so pair with Sims/Haver science videos rather than treating this as substantiation.

Key claims, quotes & relevance to Ovitage
Key claims
  • [00:01:34] Everee #4 is positioned as postmenopausal support powder in a food recipe.
  • [00:01:45] Product highlighted for BCAAs supporting muscle health with age.
  • [00:01:50] ‘CG Pro’ cited for vitality and recovery.
  • [00:02:19] Protein content of plant milks called out as a shopping criterion.
Quotes
“Our special ingredient, which is Everee number four, Pro for postmenopausal support.”
“We've got lots of wonderful branch chain amino acids, which can support us with muscle health, which is something very important as we age.”
Relevance to Ovitage

Direct Ovitage/Everee proof point: collagen/bioactive protein as food. Use as template for future higher-reach creator recipes. Claims are brand marketing, not clinical evidence—pair with Sims/Haver science videos rather than standalone substantiation.

Evidence flags
  • Health claims are promotional; no study detail on-camera.
  • Auto-caption brand name variants (‘Evry’); confirm on-screen packaging text for quotes.

Narrative pillars

Recurring stories the menopause / women’s nutrition category tells — validated from Meta/site ads & hooks (Ads & hooks), origin metaphors (Story & metaphors), ranked sellers (Ranked sellers), YouTube summaries in YouTube summaries, and the voice map at voice map (read-only). Pillars renamed from evidence; example labels that lacked enough hits were dropped or merged. Ranked by prevalence × Ovitage fit.

Prevalence = distinct quoted examples counted across those sources this session. Scientific footing is a pragmatic 1–5 for marketing honesty (not a journal grade). Momentum from 2024–2026 creative and voice activity.

Pillar detail (evidence)

1. Women are not small men — OWN

One-line: Female bodies need female rules for food and training — especially when estrogen falls.

Who: Dr Stacy Sims (TEDx, Huberman); Tertiary Extracts home; Everee life-stage range; voice-map top YouTube cluster.

  • “Women are not small men.” — Sims TEDx / Best-of 2025 (e5LYGzKUPlE; GqPVS5nRtCs)
  • “Women deserve nutrition built for their biology, not borrowed from someone else’s.” — tertiaryextracts.com
  • “When we're looking at the data that says there's no window… it's based on male data.” — Sims short (My_7zC_iPas)

Prevalence: 9+ across YT summaries, TE, Everee, voice map. Momentum: Rising (Huberman 2.5M views anchor). Science: 4/5 (sex-difference literature; still heuristic on exact grams). Ovitage line: “Sheep-science protein built for her biology — not another collagen borrowed from the bloke’s tub.”

2. It’s not you — it’s menopause — BORROW

One-line: Name the transition so the symptom stops feeling like a personal failure.

Who: Bonafide Meta (Motion); Happy Mammoth; Kindra; Amazon menopause aisle (Estroven, Amberen).

  • “It wasn't just “bad sleep” it was menopause” — Bonafide (Motion)
  • “Waking up mid-sleep? It could be menopause.” — Bonafide Noctera (same)
  • “Take this free 2-minute quiz to find the ultimate answer to your stubborn hormonal symptoms” — Happy Mammoth
  • “Dryness. Itching. Painful intimacy. Relief starts here.” — Kindra

Prevalence: 12+ ad/site examples. Momentum: Stable–rising (Meta creative engine). Science: 3/5 (true that symptoms cluster at menopause; product claims vary). Ovitage line: “If your skin, gut and clarity shifted in peri — that’s biology asking for better protein, not a character flaw.”

3. More than glow — OWN

One-line: Beauty collagen was the doorway; women now want gut, brain, joints and muscle in the same scoop.

Who: Everee; TE; Absolute Collagen; Mary Claire Haver collagen YT; sceptics (Henselmans, Sims) force honesty.

  • “Most collagen stops at glow. Ovitage® gets into your gut, brain, joints and mood.” — evereewomen.com
  • “A woman will lose 30% of the collagen in her skin in the first 5 years of menopause.” — Haver (zKqt4kW2Mmo); echoed on Absolute menopause blog
  • “The formulation of the collagen you use matters.” — Haver (same)
  • “The case for collagen supplements for joint or skin health is very weak.” — Henselmans foil (rmsQdP7QbJk)

Prevalence: 10+. Momentum: Rising (beauty → multi-system). Science: 3/5 (skin-loss figure widely repeated; multi-system peptide claims need TE’s own trials). Ovitage line: Keep Everee’s line; add “next-level collagen with the amino acids beauty powders leave thin.”

4. Muscle is the organ of longevity — OWN (additive)

One-line: Protect lean mass with protein dosing and strength — menopause makes muscle harder to keep.

Who: Gabrielle Lyon; Haver; Sims; TE Sports + GLP-1 pages; Pause Life Meta volume (Wilow).

  • “Most women have never heard of anabolic resistance.” — Lyon on Haver (V7S8a_9d5Wo)
  • “Women who are perimenopausal onwards are 40 to 60 g because we become more anabolically resistant…” — Sims (My_7zC_iPas)
  • “We've got lots of wonderful branch chain amino acids, which can support us with muscle health…” — Everee Kitchen (B10eiR0ALUc)
  • TE: Ovitage for sports / lean mass on GLP-1 — tertiaryextracts.com

Prevalence: 8+. Momentum: Rising hard (2025–26 YT + GLP-1). Science: 4/5 for protein+training; warn: collagen alone ≠ complete MPS protein (Sims/Henselmans). Ovitage line: “Higher BCAAs than ordinary collagen — a food peptide that sits beside your protein target, not instead of it.”

5. Brain fog / menopause brain — BORROW → OWN carefully

One-line: The fuzzy head is real; fuel and life-stage biology are part of the fix.

Who: Lisa Mosconi books (voice map); Sims; TE peri–post “Aid neurohormone activity to help reduce brain fog”; Everee brain/mood.

  • “Protein hits the brain, counters that brain fog, also feed forward to build lean mass.” — Sims TEDx summary quote
  • TE home peri–post bullet on brain fog — tertiaryextracts.com
  • Everee: gut, brain, joints and mood — evereewomen.com

Prevalence: 6+. Momentum: Rising (Mosconi bestsellers; TE claim set). Science: 3/5 (multifactorial; keep soft “support”). Ovitage line: “Cystine, tyrosine and glutamic acid in a women’s peptide — for the days your head won’t clear.”

6. Origin purity — OWN

One-line: Traceable land or sea beats anonymous white powder.

Who: Vital Proteins wild-caught cod; Absolute/Revive marine; Everee “100% sourced in NZ”; TE Christchurch / Sheep Science.

  • “sourced from the skin and scales of fish, natural by-products…” — Vital Proteins
  • Everee FAQ: NZ-sourced; sheepskin novel source — evereewomen.com
  • TE about: Ōtautahi / “Shepherding a New Era…” — about

Prevalence: 8+. Momentum: Stable. Science: 2–3 (trust cue more than mechanism). Ovitage line: “New Zealand sheep science — upcycled skin peptides with a traceable paddock story.”

7. Doctor-formulated / clinically studied — BORROW

One-line: Show the clinician and the study, not just the glow selfie.

Who: Bonafide Relizen; Equi “clinician-formulated”; Kindra “Recommended by 7,000+ OB/GYNs…”; Haver branded collagen; Menopace.

  • “clinically tested to relieve menopausal hot flashes and night sweats” — Relizen
  • “Recommended by 7,000+ OB/GYNs…” — Kindra
  • “Clinical formulations for women’s health…” / “60,000+ WOMEN · 11 YEARS” — Equi

Prevalence: 7+. Momentum: Stable. Science: 3–4 when trials exist. Ovitage line: “Built with Dr Rob Kelly’s sheep-science team — patents pending, not vibes.”

8. Gut as the root — BORROW

One-line: Sort the gut and the midsection, mood and skin often follow.

Who: Happy Mammoth; Better Body Co Provitalize (Amazon #2); Everee Kitchen; TE gut integrity.

  • “My tummy is definitely better than it was…” — HM
  • Provitalize: “Digestive Health, Menopause…” — Amazon BS #2
  • Everee #4 in overnight oats — gut-friendly recipe (B10eiR0ALUc)

Prevalence: 6+. Momentum: Stable. Science: 3/5. Ovitage line: “Structural peptides for gut lining support — mixed into real food, not another probiotic promise.”

9. Upcycled / waste-to-wellness — OWN

One-line: The by-product becomes the bioactive.

Who: TE Ovitage; Vital Proteins marine by-products; Everee planet/less-cruelty copy.

  • “upcycled from whole ovine (sheep) skin, a by-product typically discarded” — TE Ovitage
  • Vital: fish skin/scales “would otherwise be discarded” — VP marine blog
  • Everee: “better for the planet with more traceability and less cruelty” — FAQ

Prevalence: 4+ hard hits (category thinner than glow). Momentum: Rising with ESG. Science: 2 (process claim). Ovitage line: “We kept the part of the sheep that nutrition usually wastes — and made it women’s protein.”

10. Hormone-free relief — AVOID as hero

One-line: Symptom relief without HRT — the non-hormonal supplement aisle’s master story.

Who: Bonafide, Kindra, Estroven, Amberen (Amazon BS dominance).

  • Relizen “hormone-free” — Bonafide
  • Estroven / Amberen Amazon titles — hormone-free multi-symptom
  • Ristela “Hormone-free” callouts — Motion

Prevalence: 8+ in symptom brands. Momentum: Stable (UK also has strong HRT-advocacy counter-narrative via Newson/Davina — voice map). Science: 3 for botanicals with trials; wrong lane for a protein platform. Ovitage: Don’t lead with anti-HRT or hot-flush cure; stay protein/food.

11. Overlooked / gaslit woman — BORROW tone

One-line: She was told it was in her head; the category now says it out loud.

Who: Bonafide UGC (“afraid to talk about it”); Davina Sex, Myths and the Menopause (voice map); TE underserved-women GDP framing; Kindra.

  • Bonafide Motion storyline: dryness/painful sex “afraid to talk about it”
  • TE: “Half the world’s population remains one of the most underserved audiences in science and nutrition.”
  • Kindra blunt symptom hero — ourkindra.com

Prevalence: 5+. Momentum: Stable (cultural backdrop). Science: 2 (cultural). Ovitage line: Light touch — “Built because women’s protein science was an afterthought.”

12. GLP-1 lean-mass protection — OWN

One-line: On GLP-1s, muscle loss is the hidden cost — quality protein becomes non-negotiable.

Who: TE GLP-1 Foods; Lyon on Haver (“Every bite matters”); Meta health-ad cluster (Adligator GLP-1 keyword).

  • TE: “support lean body mass and address muscle loss associated with GLP-1 therapies” — home
  • “Every bite matters.” — Lyon (V7S8a_9d5Wo)
  • EAA products when calories fall on GLP-1 — same episode

Prevalence: 3+ primary (still early vs hot-flush aisle). Momentum: Rising fast. Science: 3/5 (protein need real; Ovitage-specific RCTs not shown). Ovitage line: “Fast-digesting sheep peptides with more BCAAs than standard collagen — for lean mass when appetite drops.”

13. Formulation matters — OWN

One-line: Source and peptide profile decide whether collagen is marketing or medicine-adjacent nutrition.

Who: Haver; TE Ovitage composition; Sims “structural not dietary protein”; Henselmans zero protein score.

  • “The formulation of the collagen you use matters.” — Haver YT
  • “It's a structural protein, it's not a dietary protein…” — Sims (etKSdqfcXeE)
  • “Sheep skin contains over four times the follicle density of cow hide… higher levels of cystine and BCAAs” — TE

Prevalence: 5+. Momentum: Rising (sceptics + premium brands). Science: 4/5 as a framing discipline. Ovitage line: “Not all collagen is cow or fish — ovine whole-skin peptides, higher cystine, patents pending.”

14. Life-stage personalisation — BORROW (Everee owns)

One-line: Peri is not post is not “active ageing” — match the jar to the stage.

Who: Everee #2–#5 + quiz; Happy Mammoth quiz; Equi Formulas; Absolute multi-age Age Powerfully.

  • Everee quiz + #3 Peri / #4 Post / #5 Active Ageing — evereewomen.com
  • Happy Mammoth hormone quiz — happymammoth.com
  • Equi “one for every stage of a woman’s life” — equilondon.com

Prevalence: 5+. Momentum: Stable–rising. Science: 2 (marketing architecture). Ovitage line: B2B: “One bioactive platform, stage-specific finished goods.”

Dropped / merged (insufficient or overlapping evidence): standalone “beauty-only glow” merged into #3; “royal jelly/queen” etc. stay in metaphor catalogue not category pillars; pure “anti-pharma” avoided because UK voice map also elevates HRT advocates (Newson, Davina) — the commercial supplement lane is better labelled hormone-free relief (#10).

motionapp.com/library/bonafide; hellobonafide.com/relizen SUPPORTED

Pattern takeaway for Ovitage: the winning metaphors are concrete (source biology → human tissue), not abstract wellness. Marine collagen sells the fish’s skin; snail mucin sells the wound-healing trail; Bonafide sells the renamed symptom. Sheepskin must do the same job without the ick.

Ovitage story options

Candidate metaphors linking sheep / wool / sheepskin / lanolin / NZ pasture to the woman’s effect. Plain British English. Claims checked against Tertiary Extracts and Everee pages fetched this session.

Option A — Follicle density (strongest science–metaphor fit)

“Sheep skin has denser follicles than cow hide — so the protein they pull from it is richer in the cystine that my hair and skin actually need in peri.”

Supports: hair follicle anchoring / hair loss; higher cystine vs bovine/marine. TE Ovitage: “Sheep skin contains over four times the follicle density of cow hide… significantly higher levels of cystine and BCAAs.” TE home: cystine, tyrosine, glutamic acid for peri–post; “Strengthen hair follicle anchoring to help reduce hair loss.”

Scientific-accuracy check: Follicle-density → higher cystine is TE’s stated composition claim (pending patents noted). Mapping cystine to hair keratin is chemically plausible (disulphide bonds in keratin) but “helps reduce hair loss” is a structure/function-style claim — in UK/NZ/AU advertising it needs substantiation and careful wording (support vs treat). Do not imply disease cure. Mechanism metaphor aligns with TE’s published composition story; outcome claim strength depends on their clinical dossier (not fully audited here).

Ick risk: Low–medium. “Sheep skin” is honest; lead with follicle/cystine, not abattoir imagery.

Option B — Weathering the NZ winter (resilience)

“These ewes live outside through a South Island winter — we’re taking the structural proteins that keep that skin intact and putting them into a scoop for mine.”

Supports: skin firmness / gut integrity / peri–post resilience. TE about: rooted in Ōtautahi / Christchurch; “Sheep Science”; Everee: NZ-sourced ingredients, pasture/traceability ethos.

Scientific-accuracy check: Climate-hardiness of NZ sheep is a story frame, not a proven mechanism that the peptides “transfer resilience.” Safe as origin colour; unsafe if it implies the protein confers weather-derived toughness. Prefer “sourced from NZ pasture-raised sheep, upcycled from skin that already carries high structural-protein density.”

Ick risk: Low if pasture/landscape-led; rises if “slaughter by-product” is foregrounded without upcycling purpose.

Option C — Upcycled sheepskin (waste → women’s biology)

“They used to throw the skin away. Now it’s the bit that does the most for women — gut, skin, brain fog, lean mass.”

Supports: sustainability + novelty of source. TE Ovitage: “upcycled from whole ovine (sheep) skin, a by-product typically discarded”; isolates more than collagen I/III. Everee FAQ: protein from sheep skin never used this way before; wider amino-acid range vs cow/fish.

Scientific-accuracy check: Upcycling claim matches TE copy. Do not overclaim environmental metrics (carbon, waste tonnes) without audited numbers. Outcome list must stay within authorised claims.

Ick risk: Medium. “Thrown away” can feel clever or grotesque. Soften to “a part of the animal that rarely made it into nutrition.”

Option D — Wool / keratin kinship (cystine bridge)

“Wool is basically keratin armour held together by cystine — same building block my hair is losing in peri. Ovitage is the edible cousin of that story.”

Supports: hair + skin protein story; cystine/tyrosine. Cite TE cystine narrative and Everee “hair, skin, nails… gut, brain, joints and mood.”

Scientific-accuracy check: Careful: Ovitage is from skin proteins (collagen-forward platform), not from wool fibre. Wool metaphor is educational kinship, not literal “you are eating wool.” Mis-stating source as wool would be inaccurate and ASA/FTC-risky. Use: “same amino acids that make wool resilient also show up richly in sheepskin peptides.”

Ick risk: Low for wool (familiar, soft); high if someone thinks they’re drinking wool slurry — clarify skin-derived peptides.

Option E — Lanolin / barrier cousin (skin barrier)

“We’ve always trusted sheep for the outside of our skin — lanolin’s been in the bathroom forever. This is the inside version.”

Supports: skin barrier / firmness. TE: “Support the structure of skin proteins for firmness and gut integrity.”

Scientific-accuracy check: Lanolin is wool grease (topical emollient); Ovitage is ingested structural peptides. Metaphor is category familiarity only — do not claim Ovitage works like lanolin or is lanolin. Overclaim risk: high if blurred.

Ick risk: Low–medium (lanolin is accepted; some hate the smell association).

Option F — Ewe biology / female mammal (women’s platform)

“It’s sheep science built for female physiology — not another collagen borrowed from a bloke’s sports protein aisle.”

Supports: TE positioning: “Precision Nutrition, Built for Her”; peri–post, sports, GLP-1 lean mass. Everee stage SKUs (#3 peri, #4 post, #5 active ageing).

Scientific-accuracy check: “Built for her” is brand positioning. Amino-acid balance claims (cystine/tyrosine/glutamic acid; BCAAs for lean mass on GLP-1) are TE’s stated differentiators — keep as “designed around… / provides…” not “clinically proven to reverse menopause” unless trials are cited. TE notes pending patents US 63/808,077, US 18/862,274, NZ 820890.

Ick risk: Low. Avoid literal “ewe hormones” — that would be false and alarming.

Option G — Shepherding / NZ agri-innovation (place trust)

“It’s from Christchurch biotech people who know sheep — not a mystery powder from a white tub.”

Supports: trust, traceability, Everee “ingredients 100% sourced in NZ.” TE about: “Shepherding a New Era in Women’s Health”; RMP-certified facility; Fieldays/Primary Industries Innovation Awards finalist 2025.

Scientific-accuracy check: Place and facility claims are TE’s; don’t invent award wins as “won” if copy says finalist. Capacity figures on TE about (“200 tonnes annually… US $20 million in annual capacity”) are company statements — report as such, not audited revenue.

Ick risk: Low.

Option H — More than glow (gut–brain–muscle)

“Most collagen stops at glow. This one’s for the foggy days, the gut, and the muscle I’m trying not to lose.”

Supports: Everee home verbatim angle: “Most collagen stops at glow. Ovitage® gets into your gut, brain, joints and mood.” TE: brain fog / neurohormone; GLP-1 lean mass; sports BCAAs.

Scientific-accuracy check: Strongest consumer line already on Everee. Keep cognitive claims soft (“support… clarity”) unless specific trials are published and cited. Gut integrity via collagen peptides is a common category claim — still needs local claim compliance.

Ick risk: None (source invisible in this line — good for cold audiences; weaker for origin differentiation).

Top 3 recommended for creative development: A (follicle/cystine), C (upcycle with soft wording), H (more-than-glow — already proven on Everee). Use B/G as NZ trust wrappers; treat D/E as optional secondary metaphors with strict accuracy fences.

New products: five proposals for Tertiary Extracts

Everything on this tab is a proposal. The product names, formulas, doses, prices and launch plans are ideas for Dr Rob Kelly and Anthony Booth to test. They have not been agreed with Tertiary Extracts or with anyone named here. Market figures, follower counts, evidence scores and claim rules come from the research tabs on this page or from regulator pages fetched on 5 Oct 2026, cited as [S1]–[S16] at the foot of this tab. No Ovitage-named RCT has been published, so every product leans on authorised claims for its partner ingredients and keeps Ovitage to statements about what it contains.

Two rules apply to all five products. First, UK advertising for food supplements cannot rely on the recommendation of an individual health professional, so in the UK the doctors below can educate but cannot endorse a product [S10]. Second, the FTC treats testimonials and expert endorsements as no substitute for RCT-grade evidence, and material connections must be disclosed [S14].

Everee Strong

PROPOSAL

One scoop with Ovitage peptides, complete protein and 3 g of creatine, for women over 45 who lift or have been told to start.

Own brand: an Everee range extension, sold DTC first

Positioning
Target woman
Peri- and post-menopausal women aged roughly 45 to 65 who strength-train. NZ and AU first through Everee's existing DTC base, then UK and US DTC and Amazon US.
Job to be done
Hit the higher protein targets the experts now quote (Sims: 40–60 g after training from perimenopause onwards; Lyon: 30–50 g at the first meal) and take creatine, without buying three tubs [S4].
Narrative pillar
#4 Muscle is the organ of longevity (Rising hard, science 4/5, ‘Own it’) with #1 Women are not small men (science 4/5, ‘Own it’) [S2].
White space
Creatine’s US sales reached $91.7M (+48.9% YoY, SPINS) yet only 36% of creatine users are women [S3]. ‘Creatine for women’ searches rose about 9× and ‘protein for women’ about 7× over five years [S5]. None of the 20 brands in the voice-map value-chain table lists creatine in its hero product, and Everee is the only confirmed ovine collagen in it [S1].
Format & price
Powder, 30 serves, unflavoured plus one flavour; stirs into food as in the Everee Kitchen oats video [S4]. Proposed price: NZ$99 (NZ$79 subscribe), £45, US$59. Reference points: Everee NZ$89, Pause Life Skin & Bone US$70 [S1][S6].
Brand
Name
Everee Strong
One-line promise
One scoop with Ovitage peptides, complete protein and 3 g of creatine, for women over 45 who lift or have been told to start.
Origin metaphor
Option F (sheep science built for female physiology) wrapped in Option G (Christchurch biotech people who know sheep) [S2].
Hook lines
  1. From perimenopause the protein you need after training goes up, not down. One scoop of Everee Strong carries 20 g of complete protein, 7 g of Ovitage and 3 g of creatine.
  2. Creatine has a claim the regulator has approved for adults over 55 who do resistance training. Most of the women it applies to have never been told about it.
  3. Made in Christchurch from New Zealand sheepskin, a part of the animal that rarely made it into nutrition, and formulated for a woman’s training.
Compliant claim wording

Support wording that can be used

  • UK/EU: “Daily creatine consumption can enhance the effect of resistance training on muscle strength in adults over the age of 55.” Only with 3 g/day, for adults over 55 in regular resistance training, stating the training conditions [S9].
  • UK/EU: “Protein contributes to a growth in muscle mass” / “…to the maintenance of muscle mass” (food must be at least a source of protein); “Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function” [S8].
  • US: structure/function wording such as “supports muscle strength when combined with resistance training”, with the FDA disclaimer and RCT-grade substantiation for each ingredient claim [S14].
  • NZ/AU: use a pre-approved food-health relationship or notify a self-substantiated one backed by a systematic review before the claim appears on label or in ads [S15].
Avoid / risk flags: Avoid “builds muscle in menopause”, “prevents sarcopenia” or “reverses muscle loss” (treatment/disease claims). The creatine claim cannot be aimed at 45–55-year-olds in UK/EU; use the high-intensity-exercise creatine claim for them or say nothing. Ovitage has no authorised muscle claim, so keep it to composition (“higher BCAAs than conventional collagen”, TE’s comparison, which needs the lab data on file) [S7][S8]. Risk: ASA medium, FTC medium, NZ ADS medium.

Formulation stack

IngredientDose basisEvidence (1–5)Supplier options
Ovitage®
7 g per serve (proposal). Basis: Everee #3 and #4 carry 6.9 g and 7.4 g; Everee cites 2.5–15 g as the effective range for collagens generally, not for Ovitage. Final dose TBD until TE’s own trial reports [S6][S3].
2/5 (composition and IP strong; no published Ovitage RCT)Tertiary Extracts (own)
Complete protein (whey isolate or sheep-milk protein)
~20 g. Needed because collagen alone is not a complete protein for muscle protein synthesis (Sims, Henselmans) [S4]. TE already uses sheep milk powder in Everee #2/#5 [S6].
4/5Glanbia, Arla, FrieslandCampina [S3]
Creatine monohydrate3 g (meets the UK/EU over-55 claim; Sims cites 3–5 g, Lyon about 5 g) [S9][S4].4/5AlzChem (Creapure®) [S3]
Vitamin D (± K2)Source-level dose for the muscle and bone claims [S8].5/5 (bone, guideline level)DSM-Firmenich, BASF; MenaQ7 for K2 [S3]
Optional US ‘Strong+’: Urolithin A (Mitopure®)US only: UK novel-food application still in progress [S11].4/5 (2022 RCT, ~12% strength gain)Amazentis / Timeline [S3]

Manufacturing: Blending and packing: Alaron (Nelson) or VitaLabs (Auckland), both GMP powder/sachet capable per their own sites [S16]. Ovitage from TE’s RMP-certified Christchurch plant (200 t/yr stated) [S7].

She is the best match because the product follows her protocol. The catch: she calls collagen ‘a structural protein, not a dietary protein’, so approach her for a formulation review of a product that already contains complete protein, not for a collagen endorsement [S4].

Niki Bezzant (@nikibezzant, 12.8K IG, NZ author, existing Everee webinar partner); Lara Briden (@larabriden, 208K IG, Christchurch); Kayla Barnes-Lentz (@femalelongevity, 4,250 IG / 487,883 X) for US longevity reach [S1].
Channels & KPIs
Channels
Instagram Reels (training plus a scoop stirred into food); YouTube and podcasts (The Proof with Simon Hill, 147K, has hosted Sims) [S1]; Everee DTC subscription; NZ gyms; Amazon US in phase two. B2B: offer the same base to Nothing Naughty (NZ protein brand, 41K IG, rated a plausible Ovitage customer) [S1].
KPIs
Waitlist sign-ups; share of Everee subscribers who add Strong; CAC by channel; 60-day repeat rate; subscription share of revenue (Absolute Collagen’s published benchmark is ~80% from subscribers [S2]); review score; share of creative passing claims review first time.
90-day launch sequence
  • Days 1–30: lock the formula and claims matrix per market; check the NZ food-health relationship route; brief Sims’ team on a paid formulation review; make a 50-woman NZ taste and mixability panel from the Everee list (product feedback only, not a claim).
  • Days 31–60: soft launch to Everee subscribers in NZ and AU; three Everee Kitchen recipe videos; Niki Bezzant webinar on protein and strength after 45.
  • Days 61–90: Sims content if signed; Reels from the micro tier; UK and US DTC waitlist; Amazon US listing prepared.
Risks
  • Sims declines or has conflicting commercial ties (not checked in the research).
  • The collagen-sceptic camp (Henselmans, 114K YouTube: ‘the protein score for collagen is literally zero’) attacks the Ovitage part [S1][S4].
  • Creatine claim restricted to over-55s in UK/EU.
  • Taste and mixability with three actives; whey and milk allergens.
  • Cost of goods pushes price above NZ$89 Everee anchor.

Everee Keep

PROPOSAL

A small-volume protein drink with Ovitage, whey and HMB for women whose appetite has dropped and who want to keep their muscle.

Own brand in the US, co-distributed through a menopause telehealth partner; ingredient offer to that partner as a private-label alternative

Positioning
Target woman
Women aged 40–65 on prescribed GLP-1 weight-loss medicines, US first. AU and UK only with the medicine left out of the advertising. GCC is a later option; no GCC voices or data are in the research set, and halal certification of the sheepskin supply chain would be needed.
Job to be done
Get enough protein in on a small appetite. Lyon on Haver’s channel: essential amino acids matter when calories fall, including on GLP-1 drugs, because ‘every bite matters’ [S4].
Narrative pillar
#12 GLP-1 lean-mass protection (Rising fast, science 3/5, ‘Own it’) [S2]. TE already runs a ‘GLP-1 Foods’ page claiming higher BCAAs and faster digestibility than dairy or plant proteins [S7].
White space
‘Ozempic muscle loss’ searches rose from a zero baseline five years ago to a recent 26-week index mean of 52 [S5]. The format exists (Vitamin Shoppe GLP-1 Support Protein with myHMB) but none is women-specific or uses ovine peptides [S3]. Midi Health, the US virtual menopause clinic valued above $1B (Feb 2026), shows GLP-1 imagery but no collagen brand [S1][S2].
Format & price
30 stick packs mixing into 150–200 ml; a shelf-stable 150 ml RTD in phase two. Proposed price US$69 for 30.
Brand
Name
Everee Keep
One-line promise
A small-volume protein drink with Ovitage, whey and HMB for women whose appetite has dropped and who want to keep their muscle.
Origin metaphor
Option H (more than glow: for the muscle I’m trying not to lose) with Option G trust wrapper [S2].
Hook lines
  1. When you are eating half of what you used to, every mouthful has to carry more protein. Keep puts 20 g into a drink the size of a juice glass.
  2. Muscle is the tissue you most want to hold on to while the weight comes off. We made Keep for women who are told to eat more protein and can’t face a shake.
  3. Ovitage peptides from New Zealand sheepskin, whey and HMB. It makes no promise about weight. It is a practical way to get protein in on a small appetite.
Compliant claim wording

Support wording that can be used

  • US: “helps you meet daily protein needs when appetite is reduced”; “supports muscle maintenance as part of resistance training” (structure/function, FDA disclaimer, substantiated per ingredient) [S14].
  • UK/EU: “Protein contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass” only. No HMB claim appears on the GB register [S8].
  • Any market: disclose every paid relationship with clinicians and creators clearly [S14].
Avoid / risk flags: HIGH RISK. In 2025 the ASA ruled that supplement ads using ‘GLP-1’, comparisons with Ozempic/Wegovy/Mounjaro, or appetite and craving claims are medicinal claims (CAP 12.1, 12.11, 15.6, 15.6.2). The UK name, pack and ads must not mention GLP-1 or the drugs, and must not say “curbs cravings” [S10]. Avoid “prevents muscle loss caused by GLP-1 drugs” everywhere (disease and drug-interaction implication). TE’s ‘faster digestibility’ claim needs data on file before use [S7]. Risk: ASA high, FTC medium–high, NZ ADS high.

Channels & KPIs
Channels

KPIs
Partner-clinic attach rate; 30- and 60-day repeat; GI tolerability complaints per 1,000 units; self-reported protein intake; CAC; Amazon conversion; claims incidents (target zero).
90-day launch sequence
  • Days 1–30: US claims review; build TE’s digestibility dossier; approach Midi Health with a co-branded pilot and Lyon’s team with a paid advisory.
  • Days 31–60: 200-woman pilot through the partner clinic, measuring tolerability, satisfaction and self-reported protein intake (insight, not a claim).
  • Days 61–90: DTC and Amazon US launch; Lyon podcast segment if signed; Isaacs and Norton evidence threads on X.
Risks
  • The UK regulator treats GLP-1 adjacency as medicinal [S10].
  • Nausea on GLP-1 lowers tolerance for any drink.
  • Vitamin Shoppe and others already in the format [S3].
  • HMB evidence in GLP-1 users is early [S3].
  • A clinic partner may prefer private label over Everee branding.

Everee Strand

PROPOSAL

Daily sachet of cystine-rich sheepskin peptides with the zinc, biotin and selenium that have approved claims for normal hair.

Co-developed: ‘with Ovitage®’ SKU for a UK collagen brand now using unbranded marine collagen; Everee version in NZ/AU

Positioning
Target woman
Perimenopausal women aged roughly 40–55 noticing thinner hair and drier skin. UK first (largest liquid-collagen market in the research), NZ/AU via Everee.
Job to be done
One daily product for hair and skin with an honest reason to believe, from a source that is not fish or cow.
Narrative pillar
#13 Formulation matters (science 4/5, ‘Own it’) and #3 More than glow (‘Own it’) [S2].
White space
Collagen peptides are worth USD 1.84B globally (2025) and collagen supplements USD 4.8B (2024) [S3]. Absolute Collagen is a ‘£30M business’ with 221 active Meta ads [S2]. Every UK brand in the value-chain table is marine or bovine; Revive, Bare Biology and Better Body Co sell unbranded collagen and are named switch targets [S1]. Sea buckthorn (×3.08) and omega-7 (×4.55) searches are rising [S3].
Format & price
30 powder sachets for water or coffee, with an optional sea-buckthorn omega-7 softgel bundle. Proposed price £39 (sachets) / £55 (bundle). Reference: Absolute £19.20–£33.99, Bare Biology £32.95–£45 [S1].
Brand
Name
Everee Strand
One-line promise
Daily sachet of cystine-rich sheepskin peptides with the zinc, biotin and selenium that have approved claims for normal hair.
Origin metaphor
Option A, follicle density (rated the strongest science–metaphor fit), with Option D wool kinship used only as ‘the same amino acids that make wool resilient show up richly in sheepskin peptides’, never ‘made from wool’ [S2].
Hook lines
  1. Ovitage’s makers say sheepskin has more than four times the follicle density of cow hide, which is why its peptides carry more cystine, the amino acid hair keratin depends on.
  2. Most beauty collagen comes from fish or cows. Strand’s comes from New Zealand sheep, processed in Christchurch.
  3. Zinc, biotin and selenium contribute to the maintenance of normal hair. We put them in because those are the claims we are allowed to make, and the Ovitage because of what it is made of.
Compliant claim wording

Support wording that can be used

  • UK/EU: “Zinc / Biotin / Selenium contributes to the maintenance of normal hair”; “Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin” (each at least a ‘source’) [S8].
  • Composition statements for Ovitage only (“rich in cystine”, “more cystine than bovine or marine collagen”), backed by TE’s amino-acid data [S6][S7].
  • US: “supports healthy-looking hair and skin” with substantiation; no outcome numbers without an RCT [S14].
Avoid / risk flags: HIGH RISK. TE’s own line “strengthen hair follicle anchoring to help reduce hair loss” [S7] is an unauthorised health claim in the UK and edges towards medicinal (hair loss). In NZ it needs a notified food-health relationship [S15]. Do not use the “30% of skin collagen lost in five years” statistic until the primary citation is verified; the YouTube summary flags it [S4]. No ‘doctor-recommended’ lines in UK supplement ads [S10]. Risk: ASA high, FTC medium–high, NZ ADS medium–high.

She is not a health professional, which matters because UK rules bar health-professional recommendation of food supplements [S10]. Her IG bio is personal and her menopause message is inferred, and she advocates HRT, so the product must be presented as food alongside medical care, never instead of it.
Secondary / micro tier
Partner brand accounts as the first tier: Revive Collagen (158K IG, menopause navigation, Mel B partnership imagery), Bare Biology (52.5K IG, evidence-led) [S1]. Education, not endorsement: The Menopause Charity (54K IG) [S1].

KPIs
UK partner LOI signed; Ovitage kg contracted; UK DTC conversion; 90-day repeat; diary completion; ASA complaints (target zero).
90-day launch sequence
  • Days 1–30: GB claims check; confirm with the FSA that ovine skin peptides are not a novel food (unverified); send switch packs to Revive and Bare Biology.
  • Days 31–60: NZ/AU Everee Strand launch; term sheet with one UK partner; approach Davina McCall through her agent.
  • Days 61–90: UK soft launch through the partner or Everee UK DTC; GenM application; 12-week self-assessed hair-and-skin diary with early buyers (insight only).
Risks
  • Hair loss is a medical complaint, so claims stay narrow.
  • Ick factor of ‘sheepskin’, rated low–medium; lead with follicles and cystine, not abattoir imagery [S2].
  • Marine incumbents with large Meta budgets.
  • Celebrity fee and possible conflicts.
  • Results take 12 weeks, longer than most trial periods.

Everee Clear

PROPOSAL

A morning stick of Ovitage peptides, creatine, magnesium and zinc for the foggy years of perimenopause.

Own brand: Everee range extension (US and UK DTC, NZ)

Positioning
Target woman
Working women aged roughly 42–55 in perimenopause reporting brain fog. US and UK DTC, NZ via Everee.
Job to be done
Something to take every morning that supports normal cognitive and psychological function, without pretending to cure menopause.
Narrative pillar
#5 Brain fog / menopause brain (Borrow → own carefully, science 3/5) with #2 It’s not you, it’s menopause (tone only) [S2].
White space
‘Menopause brain fog’ searches rose about 5× over five years, and ‘perimenopause’ about 5× [S5]. Lisa Mosconi’s The Menopause Brain is a NYT and Sunday Times bestseller [S1]. No collagen brand in the value-chain table leads on cognition; Midi Health sells a ‘brain boost’ product, so the space is not empty [S1].
Format & price
30 stick packs to stir into coffee or tea. Proposed price US$59 / £39 / NZ$79.
Brand
Name
Everee Clear
One-line promise
A morning stick of Ovitage peptides, creatine, magnesium and zinc for the foggy years of perimenopause.
Origin metaphor
Option F (built for female physiology) with Option H (for the foggy days) [S2].
Hook lines
  1. Searches for ‘menopause brain fog’ have grown about five-fold in five years. The women typing it are not imagining it.
  2. Zinc contributes to normal cognitive function. Magnesium contributes to normal psychological function. That is what we are permitted to tell you, and it is why both are in Clear.
  3. Stir one stick into your morning coffee: 5 g of creatine, magnesium, zinc and Ovitage peptides, which carry more tyrosine than conventional collagen according to their maker.
Compliant claim wording

Support wording that can be used

  • UK/EU: “Zinc contributes to normal cognitive function”; “Magnesium contributes to normal psychological function” and “…to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue”; “Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity” [S8].
  • US: “supports mental clarity and focus” only with substantiation [S14].
Avoid / risk flags: HIGHEST CLAIMS RISK OF THE FIVE. TE’s “aid neurohormone activity to help reduce brain fog” [S7] and Everee’s ‘improves cognitive performance and memory’ wording [S6] are unauthorised in the UK. No creatine cognition claim is on the GB register [S8]. FTC expects RCT-grade evidence for cognitive claims and none exists for Ovitage [S14]. Risk: ASA high, FTC high, NZ ADS high.

  • Days 31–60: 100-woman eight-week self-report pilot (insight, not claims); approach Kayla Barnes-Lentz for an evidence-thread partnership.
  • Days 61–90: X-led launch; Rhonda Patrick outreach; UK DTC with authorised-claim copy only.
Risks
  • Cognitive claims draw the most regulator attention.
  • Overlaps with Strong (both carry creatine), so the two could cannibalise each other; consider launching Clear as a Strong variant.
  • The lead’s Instagram is small.
  • Creatine taste and grit in coffee.

Paddock Oats (made with Ovitage®)

PROPOSAL

Overnight oats with Ovitage peptides from New Zealand sheep and gold kiwifruit, for women who would rather eat their protein than drink it.

Co-developed food with Nothing Naughty (NZ), plus an ‘Ovitage Inside’ ingredient programme for unbranded-collagen brands

Positioning
Target woman
NZ and AU women aged roughly 40–60 who shop in supermarkets and do not want another supplement ritual.
Job to be done
A breakfast that carries more protein and fibre, with no scoop and no new habit.
Narrative pillar
#8 Gut as the root (Borrow), #9 Upcycled waste-to-wellness (‘Own it’) and #6 Origin purity (‘Own it’, NZ sheep) [S2].
White space
The Everee Kitchen oats video (2,618 views) is the only confirmed YouTube creative that puts Ovitage into food rather than a scoop ritual [S4]. TE describes its IP as an advantage ‘in the functional foods market’ [S7]. Nothing Naughty sells unbranded collagen and is rated a plausible Ovitage B2B customer [S1]. A food format also uses volume: TE states 200 t/yr capacity [S7].
Format & price
400 g pouch (about 8 serves) for NZ grocery and DTC; a bar in phase two. Proposed price NZ$14.99. Reference: Nothing Naughty NZ$17.95–$71.95 range [S1].
Brand
Name
Paddock Oats (made with Ovitage®)
One-line promise
Overnight oats with Ovitage peptides from New Zealand sheep and gold kiwifruit, for women who would rather eat their protein than drink it.
Origin metaphor
Option C (upcycled sheepskin, softened to ‘a part of the animal that rarely made it into nutrition’) with Option B/G NZ paddock and Christchurch trust wrappers [S2].
Hook lines
  1. Five grams of Ovitage per bowl, made in Christchurch from a part of the sheep that rarely made it into nutrition, stirred into oats you make the night before.
  2. Each serve carries 600 mg of gold kiwifruit powder, the dose Everee uses for prebiotic function.
  3. If you would rather eat breakfast than take a supplement, this is the Ovitage that goes into Everee, in a bowl.
Compliant claim wording

Support wording that can be used

  • NZ/AU: nutrition content claims (e.g. protein, fibre) only where the food meets the Code’s conditions; any gut health claim through a pre-approved or notified food-health relationship [S15].
  • Origin and process statements TE already publishes: upcycled from whole ovine skin, made in NZ [S7].
Avoid / risk flags: Do not quantify environmental benefit (carbon, tonnes diverted) without audited numbers [S2]. Livaux gut wording must follow the supplier’s notified relationship, if one exists (unverified). Check that Ovitage’s peptides survive hot porridge preparation before making any composition claim for the cooked serve (TBD). Risk: NZ ADS medium, ASA/FTC low (NZ/AU product).

Formulation stack

IngredientDose basisEvidence (1–5)Supplier options

Manufacturing: Nothing Naughty’s existing co-packing, with TE supplying bulk Ovitage. Alaron is a fallback for dry blends [S16].

Vector influencer sales plan

Voices
Lead
Niki Bezzant: @nikibezzant, 12.8K Instagram, NZ menopause author (This Changes Everything) and an existing Everee webinar partner [S1]. Small but trusted in NZ, and already working with the brand. Lara Briden (@larabriden, 208K IG, Christchurch, Hormone Repair Manual) is the reach partner [S1].
Secondary / micro tier
Nothing Naughty’s own account (41K IG); FineGutHealth (@fineguthealth, 5,698 X, AU, gut–brain) [S1].
Channels & KPIs
Channels
NZ grocery through the partner; Nothing Naughty and Everee DTC; Instagram and YouTube recipe videos; NZ radio and press (RNZ ran a Fieldays piece on TE’s sheepskin collagen) [S7]. B2B ‘Ovitage Inside’ spec sheet to the unbranded-collagen switch targets: Vital Proteins, Revive, Ancient Nutrition, Bare Biology, Better Body Co [S1].
KPIs
Partner LOI; grocery listings; units per store per week; Ovitage kg per order against TE’s 200 t capacity; recipe video views (Everee Kitchen baseline 2,618) [S4].
90-day launch sequence
  • Days 1–30: pitch Nothing Naughty; bench samples; shelf-life and heat-stability tests of Ovitage in oats; FSANZ claim route.
  • Days 31–60: three recipe videos with Niki Bezzant on Everee Kitchen; retail buyer meetings through the partner.
  • Days 61–90: DTC pre-sale of the pouch; Lara Briden content; send ‘Ovitage Inside’ packs to two switch-target brands.
Risks
  • Shelf life and heat stability unknown.
  • Grocery margins and listing fees.
  • ‘Sheepskin in my breakfast’ reaction.
  • Gut claims are tightly controlled.
  • Slowest of the five to reach shelf.

Ranking the five

Scores are 1–5 (5 is best) and are our judgement from the cited signals, not measured data. Speed to market assumes a powder made in NZ is quickest and a grocery food the slowest.

1Everee Strong5444522Creatine US $91.7M +48.9%; ‘creatine for women’ ×9; authorised over-55 creatine claim; Everee powder line and TE lean-mass page exist

Recommended first launch: Everee Strong

I would launch Everee Strong first, in NZ and AU through Everee’s existing subscribers, for four reasons.

  1. It has the most claim headroom: authorised GB/EU claims for creatine (over 55, with resistance training), protein and vitamin D, so the copy does not have to rest on Ovitage data that does not yet exist [S8][S9].
  2. The demand signal is the strongest of the five: US creatine sales up 48.9% to $91.7M, only 36% of users women, and ‘creatine for women’ searches up about 9× in five years [S3][S5].
  3. It answers the sceptics instead of avoiding them. Putting complete protein beside Ovitage removes the ‘collagen is not a dietary protein’ objection that Sims and Henselmans raise [S4].
  4. It is a powder like the existing Everee range, so it can be blended in NZ and sold to a list TE already owns [S6][S16].

Everee Keep should follow as the US B2B play, because TE already markets Ovitage for GLP-1 lean mass and the main barrier there is regulatory wording rather than formulation [S7][S10]. Clear is best held back as a variant of Strong until TE has cognitive data.
