## 2. Google Trends
- pytrends (unofficial Google Trends client), timeframe “today 5-y”, one term per request: Worldwide, Australia, New Zealand. Pulled 5 Oct 2026.
- pytrends “all” (2004–present), worldwide: menopause, perimenopause, collagen, HRT, collagen peptides.
- SerpApi Google Trends API (engine=google_trends, date=today 5-y, data_type=TIMESERIES): UK and US, 3 batches of 5 terms per geography = **6 SerpApi searches**. Each term was re-indexed to its own peak = 100 for the line charts. Raw batch values are used for the “relative size” bars.
- Comparison batches (worldwide) via pytrends with the same 3 groups.
- YoY = mean weekly index of the last 52 complete weeks vs the prior 52 weeks; 5-yr = last 52 vs first 52 weeks. “lv” = 25% or more zero-weeks in the last 2 years.
- **Trends values are relative interest (0–100), not search volumes.** No free source of absolute volumes was available (Google Ads Keyword Planner needs an ads account; SerpApi’s Trends engine also returns relative values only).
